Haartransplantation Heilungsprozess

7 Days After the Hair Transplant

At this stage, the transplanted hair follicles are still very sensitive. Mild swelling in the forehead area may occur, and scabs will form around the new hair follicles. These should not be scratched to avoid infections or disruptions in the healing process. Mild redness is also normal. The healing process can make patients feel uncertain as the scalp adjusts to the changes.

2 Weeks After the Hair Transplant

The scabs should mostly be gone now, depending on the individual healing process of the patient. Many patients may notice a reduction in redness. However, during this time, a phenomenon called "shock loss" often occurs, where the transplanted hair temporarily falls out. This can be unsettling but is a completely normal part of the process.

3 Weeks After the Hair Transplant

The shock loss is in full swing, and the scalp has usually calmed down completely. Patients might worry that the treatment was unsuccessful, but this is unfounded. This is the time when the hair follicles enter a resting phase before regrowth begins. This is the normal cycle of the anagen and telogen growth phases of the hair follicles.

6 Weeks After the Hair Transplant

There are now few visible signs of the transplant. Some patients report itching or slight tension at the recipient site. It is important to continue treating this area gently and to use TransplaCare aftercare products to promote scalp health. Scratching or any kind of manual influence on the transplant sites should be avoided as much as possible.

8 Weeks or 2 Months After the Hair Transplant

Some patients notice early signs of fine hair growth. However, the hair is still very thin and sensitive. Many patients still have concerns about whether the final result will meet their expectations, as hair growth at this stage can be irregular, and the appearance is still far from full hair volume.

3 Months After the Hair Transplant

This marks the beginning of the growth phase. Small, fine hairs start to sprout, although they often do not yet have the desired density and length. It is a phase that requires patience, as the healing process has progressed, but the final result will still take some time to materialize.

4 Months After the Hair Transplant

At this stage, a noticeable improvement in hair growth is often visible. The hair becomes thicker and denser, although it may still be shorter than the rest of the hair. The scalp should be well healed, and using aftercare products from the TransplaCare Volu-Med™ hair and scalp treatments will help support growth.

6 Months After the Hair Transplant

Most patients now see significant hair growth, and the new hair begins to blend harmoniously with the existing hair. However, the final result and hair density have not yet been achieved. If there are still unevenness or gaps in the hair at this stage, it is important to remain patient and continue the TransplaCare regimen diligently.

12 Months After the Hair Transplant

After one year, the hair should have reached its full potential. The density and growth are now stable, and the transplanted hair behaves like natural hair. Patients can now make final assessments of the results and discuss any potential adjustments or further steps with their doctor.
How Long Does Aftercare Therapy Take?
In the first few weeks after the procedure, the transplanted hair initially falls out. This is a completely normal physical process. During the procedure, the grafts are cut off from the body's nutrient supply, causing them to die off and fall out. However, the follicles remain intact and are now dedicated to growing new hair. It's important to supply the transplanted hair follicles with sufficient nutrients and stimulate metabolic activity during this phase.
‍
About three to four months later, hair growth begins, initially as fine fluff. Over the months, the hair will grow thicker and thicker. After around nine to twelve months, you can enjoy your new, thick hair growth when aftercare therapy has been carried out and overseen by the specialists at HEADS by volu-med™.
